Default How to mount a camera w/o a roll bar?

So my roll bar will not be here before hallett this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows a safe way of mounting a video cam in the car with a good view point.

I use a stickypod that I acquired from Miatamoto. It works well for the most part but doesn't have great clearance when you want to mount it to the rear windshield (RX8 ). There's one that mounts to the windshield and has an arm that sticks out with the tripod thread on the end of the arm which would work well I think.

I wouldn't reccomend the stickypod for a heavy miniDV camcorder, just point and shoots and small SD camcorders.
