Thread: Equipe Rapide Challenge Cup #5 - Pennington Field, 7/22

While it wasn't the best course ever made, at least it was fast for Pennington.

It was great to be back on R-comps and the RX-8 was a blast to drive. The Hankooks did a great job so hopefully they'll hold up and stay sticky.

POS and jrj512 were flying out there. Great job on Cosmos's part for his first time autocrossing a Miata.

Meh. It was long, it was hot, and it was Pennington. We also corded two tires. Did I mention we didn't win?

Congrats to miatamoto for winning B Stock. We'll see how we stack up again at La Grave in a couple of weeks on a much fresher set of tires.

I think we have some real good times ahead this season. Not only do we have some great competition going on in BS with Miatamoto (and a new brand of tires!) in the mix, but there is a storm brewing in the Tire class with CosmosMpower and Gabby joining the mix.

    Good times.

Let's not forget the other B Stock newbie yesterday. Congrats to Michael W. for straight-timing lugnnutjon in his first time out in Jon's car... not once, but twice! He was dirty on his fastest runs, but he showed a LOT of speed yesterday. Who knew?

Rumor has it we may be seeing him in Jon's car again at local events, and I hear there may be a Nationals co-drive arrangement in the works. Apparently Michael liked the RX-8!

I think I saw Brad (and Mrs. Brad) signed up for the S2000 AX, so maybe more good pics from there, too.

Did Michael Wright work with you guys in Heats 1 and 3?

Doing the audit and hope to have it to Kenny tomorrow. I have a bit more cleanup to do this time, compared to the past several events.

    TIA,

Yeah, he worked corner 1 with Jon, if I'm not mistaken.

+1. I could see him for the trailer. IIRC

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

    Thanks guys!

We are DSQ'ing a few people who did not report for their work assignment in the 4th heat and he was listed. But the timing sheets had him running in Heats 2 and 4, so he must have worked in heats 1 and 3. And according to you, he did. Plus I figured that since he was co-driving an RX-8 and you guys work, you weren't going to let him slack off.

In the future, if anyone signs up to work a heat but works a different heat (because of a co-driver or other reason) please let the worker chief know so that we don't DSQ you and that we can make sure we have enough workers working.

Please pass the word. Thanks, that is all!

I worked 2 and 4. In the 2nd heat we had 6 workers. In the 4th we had 3. The point of this is that we could have gotten by with 3. So, we could have all worked one heat and still had the 2-2 format. Just a suggestion.

A few things happened at this event which haven't happened in quite a while and we will be looking into how to better handle it in the future.

The 4th heat worker count is one issue. To me it looks like some people checked in to work, but then didn't.

In other words, a few changes are coming.

Yep, the S2000 driver that was working with me at corner 1 during heat 2 didn't show for the 4th heat. Not sure if he signed in or not.
