    Default Friend Visiting Addison

During the first week of March, a friend of many years (from Missouri) will be visiting Addison, staying at the Intercontinental. I work nights, but have the 2nd of March off. If you were looking for a place to sit around, catch up, and have a few beers with minimal distraction on a Monday night, where would you go? With my current limited knowledge, my choice would be the Carrolton American Legion, (Amber Boch on Draught, great prices, no entertainment and no drama,) but that is a little bit of a drive from Addison, and I don't know their Monday hours. Hopefully someone has a better idea. Suggestions?

    Thanks

So was I, lol. Only issue is it does get to be pretty loud in there; may not be the best place for catching up..... He may be looking for somewhere more like Fillmore's where it is a bit quieter.....

+1 for the Londoner... I remember when it was on the north side of Beltline, where the old Chili's used to be. It's still as great as it ever was! Also, it doesn't seem to ever get really packed and loud unless it's a Friday or Saturday night.

I love the Saucer and all, but it can be a noisy ass-whip if it's busy.

Also no food at Saucer, although they used to have a kickass German plate.

Just don't get their fish and chips. Tasted like a battered fried rubber eraser to me.

True, I used to eat lunch there a lot when I worked in Carrollton. But do they have food at night too?

Wutna?! The Saucer has a decent size menu with incredible food! The brats are awesome and so is the pizza!

They serve pretty damn late when I go, which never seems to be before 11pm.

I'm guessing that isn't a have-a-few-and-drive-back-to-near-Burleson type of ale. Is that on tap?

    Thanks, everyone,

Went to the Flying Saucer, ordered a double dead guy, they said they didn't have it. Bummer, Tried a St.Bernard (very sweet) and a couple of others, and enjoyed myself. I was surprised to see it so crowded on a Monday.
