Talking Argh! If only I was filthy, stinkin' rich!

'Cause that's what I'd have to be to bid on and subsequently maintain this vehicle -

Neat but I bet it's slow as Crimas. Certainly a beautiful restoration.

It says that this one will hit 65 without a problem. My bus was lucky to hit 25 going downhill with a tailwind. Those aircooled 1600 motors were just not strong at all... at least not for that much weight.

I once drove a kit car Spyder with an electric motor that looked just like that. The confused looks I got from people as they saw a Spyder go by that sounded like a golf cart were classic!

Wow... google and you shall find. This is the car I drove. It belonged to my Dad's boss at the time, John Schaeffer.

Yep... That is John. but I don't ever recall him looking that Mad scientist. He is a hippie that never grew up. The few times I saw him he had his hair in a ponytail. HE runs a renewable energy company called Real Goods.

Ahh, my dream car! Well, other than a 59 Ferrari 250 Cali spyder!
There's a company in Cali that makes wonderful reproducion cars of them (too nice to be label'd a kit car). They usually run around $18k-20k new, turn-key!

Holy crap! Just found a turbo'd one:
    Turbo'd 550 Spyder
90 MX5 281k miles! - euro spec, Porsche Riviera Blue w/black hardtop, 97 motor swap, vintage Borbet rims, GC, FM shock hats/frame rails/rear sub-brace, AGX, sway bar, stb, Fidanza/ACT combo, EBC Yellows

92 COMMA SM - new paint coming soon...
