I feel like I am being targeted

Those of you that see me regularly have heard my stories as of late regarding attempted thefts. My motorcycle is now locked in Magma's garage, because of 4 failed theft attempts (at multiple locations). Including trying to hotwire the bike while it was chained up, and unsuccessfully trying to cut the chain. My Miata has been without stereo for about 2-3 weeks, because a would-be thief jammed a pry bar into my dash trying to steal it....but just breaking the stereo and dash. Last night takes the cake, though. My car was parked at the girlfriend's apt. last night. I closed the top and windows but didn't lock anything up. Criminals didn't bother to see if I still had a stereo (there's a hole in my dash where it used to be), and didn't bother to see if I lock my doors. My top is sliced full width between the first two bows. The offenders got away with a ziplock bag containing about $5-6 in loose change. WTF? These attacks have been at various locations and times. Do I have any enemies that you guys aren't telling me about?

damn dude, the only reason i put my top up at night is so the leafs don't pile up in the car. you need to move to a better hood.

Question: Is it still paranoia if the whole world really IS out to get you?

I personally lock everything up the garage each night... just in case...

That sucks and what really sucks is you're too nice of a guy to have this happen to.

Do you have full coverage insurance? May need to make a claim.

I've had runs like that too. Have you talked to the police @ all?

If I can get a hardtop for cheap, I'll sell you my soft top for real cheap.

I have a soft top in the attic I'll trade you for shop time! ;)

Ouch, dude that sucks.

With your luck you should get the Spec Miata hardtop mounts. They bolt the hard top to the car. That way it'll be harder for them to steal it.

His car has'nt had a top on it since I have known him.

My insurance is basic liability. It wouldn't cover this. If Bean's top is in good shape, I will trade for shop time. It really isn't my 'hood as much as my girlfriend's area (except the bike thing...that's everywhere I go). One incedent was even at Central Market at Coit and 190 (broken dash/radio). That time, I did call the police to report it, and the cop acted as if I was wasting his time when he arrived 45 minutes later. I have a needle, thread, black all-weather tape, and rubber cement to make the car water-tight(ish) again.
