High Beam Indicator

Ok, so I failed inspection due to not having high beams because of the HID lights. Fortunately the old wireing and connections were still hooked up so I got some bulbs and now I have high and low beams. The problem is that the high Beam indicator on the instrument panel does not work and without it I will still fail inspection. Any suggestions, could it be wireing or a bulb? how do I fix?

My guess is bulb. That's the easy one to check anyway.

When did they start failing cars for that? My old truck never had a working high-beam indicator and it passed every time (well, the safety part anyway).

High beam indicator is actually on the list, the 'Lac had an issue with that due to the inspectors lack of knowledge of the "Guide-Matic" automatic headlight control. ;-)

Another example of government stupidity. So long as your turn signals, hazards and headlights work then who cares, you don't need to have high beams. Especially with HID's or the low-pros! I rarely use my high beams now!

Just go to the place that did my inspection, they didn't check the lights!

yes youll need that blue light thattells you the highbeams are on. look at the flashing green ones that tell you youre turn signals are on, and then look up at the idiot in front of you STILL doesnt notice. if you piss people off with the blinkers on, imagine how many people youll piss off (i mean distract/endanger) if your high beams are on!

yea thats an easy fix. its about $20 in the inspectors pocket.

$.05 Resister $.10 LED. Problem fixed.

This is why it's crucial to always carry a spare hi-beam indicator when driving your convertible...
