Interesting dialogue about the latest scams. There's no way I would buy a vehicle without kicking the tires first, especially when it sounds too good to be true.

Man, that sucks for that person, but I wonder why people think buying a car on eBay is any different that buying one in person? This ain't like buyin' Winnie the Pooh videos from Amazon... The deal I made on my Miata when I bought it on eBay was "cash in hand for good title in hand, and if I don't like the way it looks I'm going home without the car." And that was after getting the seller on the phone and whipping his ass with questions about the car for 2 days straight...
Let's be careful out there, people... :punchout:
I bought my Spec project off of eBay. I sent a PayPal payment of $250 as a deposit and the rest was cash-in-hand for exchange of that clear title. Drove to Jackson, TN and back over a weekend to pick it up and tow it home.

I've bought 2 cars on eBay; one in 2002 and my Miata in 2004. Both were fine. You just have to be careful -- or maybe that should read "Don't be stupid".
I bought my kid off of eBay, and she's a peach!
