Rain rail nut torque specs?
Tomorrow I plan to re-torque my rain rail nuts properly (who knew there was a right way and a wrong way?). I found the tightening sequence on the pointy board, but no mention of the torque specs. I'm guessing the sequence is more important than the torque, as long as I don't just tighten the bejeezus out of 'em and squash the rain rail. Any pointers?
Andy, I know you just did this - and we talked about it last Wed, but I've slept since then - so if you happen to have those specs, that would be great!
UPDATE! Well whaddaya know... I found the rain rail was slightly shifted and one of the holes had stretched a bit, causing the dribble around the mounting stud - a direct result of my Samsonite Gorilla install technique on the first pass. So I pulled all the nuts off, reset the rain rail, then reinstalled the retainers using the proper torque sequence (didn't find a baby torque wrench, so I just twisted till it felt right and they were all even)... and... lo and behold, it is now watertight!
