Sounds to me like we need to give this lady a taser... and then have someone else's 82 year old grandmother come at HER swinging a hammer and see how quickly she uses it... :rolleyes:

In all fairness, the article never said she swung at, or even approached, the cops. The workers saw her in a window with a hammer. Maybe she was trying to kill (an imaginary) spider?!? They entered her home, and then they tasered her. :rolleyes: indeed...

And before I get flamed for being a cop hater, I will be the first to admit they have a tough job and I wouldn't want to do it. How fast could she come at you? ::OldMan:: Here's an idea: back up. Eventually she'll wear herself out and lie down for a nap! Cops have a hard job and a lot of ::Bum::::Pir:: deserve to get zapped. But if some gung-ho cop tasered my grandmother (who has alzheimer's, btw) I would be pissed!! There are a lot of alternative solutions than sending 50,000 volts into an elderly woman. Especially one who is in her own home. How much of a danger to other people is she? I can't imagine she's creating more of a danger to herself than the danger of 50,000 volts hitting her. Does swinging a hammer in your own home warrant zapping an old woman who very well may not survive it? I'd say using the taser was a poor choice...::2Cents::

now i understand tazing some drunk beligerant fool trying to take pot shots at you but come on a little old grandma hell she could have had a gun in each hand and still wouldnt have scared me into tazing her and i am not a "trained professional" HAHA ::Censor::... someone wanted some paid time off ...
