Texas Region to host National Tour
From post:
Hey folks, it has just been announced, and approved for release by Howard D., that Texas Region will host a National Tour the first weekend in May 2008 at Texas Motor Speedway's bus lot. This lot has similar surface to HPT, and will feature a Nationals style course on the 1100' x 550' asphalt pad. For those who have attended events in the past at this site and were not happy with the grid situation, this has been addressed, and grid issues will not be a problem for this event.
In addition, Texas Region will be hosting a Club Race inside the Speedway at the same time, and your SCCA membership card will allow you to go inside and watch during your spare time. Full details are incomplete at this time, but there may even be an opportunity to drive the 1.5 mile oval behind a pace car, for a small fee. Texas Driving Experience will also be hosting a HPDE at the track on Thursday for those who want to get here early, and drive the full 2.4 mile roval (oval connected to the road course) will allow a minimum of three, possibly four, 30 minute sessions on the big track. I will update this post as details become available, but please mark your calendars for this truly exciting weekend of driving and autocrossing!
