Surprising lack of Miatas... and long courses!

Don't ask why I was looking. I have an illness.
It may be time for an intervention. Besides, there were less than 50 drivers total.
Don't come out here, that is unless you like rallycross. (See attached image, and you guys though Mineral Wells was bad, and no I haven't been to an even out here yet.)
Why did they cancel the rest of the season?
I knew you guys expected it from me...
Hey guys!
I'm actually down here in Corpus right now and just got back from running the December event with STBR.
They actually always do a Saturday/Sunday "event". For your entry fee, you get 6 practice runs on Saturday and your 6 "real" runs on Sunday.
Not everyone shows up for the practice so Saturday usually doesn't have as many folks as on Sunday.
STBR is at Canabiss Field which is still an active air field.....so they are restricted as to how much of the runways they can use.
Because of this and how they set up their courses, they only run one car at a time. Most courses are over 1 minute in lenth and they have the usual timing issues, slow corner workers, car breakdowns, etc.... so you DO spend all day at the event.
Today had 30 entries and didn't get done until well after 4 pm.
They do have very challenging, long courses and if you need seat time, it's worth coming down here......just be prepared for an all-day event and not much time to get lunch.......alot depends a lot on the run/work order that day. This weekend, I had the 1st heat off, ran the 2nd heat, worked the 3rd heat and stayed out to work for the 1st heat's 2nd set of runs (you work 2 heats in a row). Then back to grid for my 2nd set of runs......got done around 3:30. Didn't stick around the 3rd run groups 2nd set of runs.
They don't give out end-of-event trophies......only trophy hats at the end of the season for their class champions.
