New Firearm in da house
I had been reading allot about the new Ruger SR9 striker fired pistol. I got so anxious I just had to go buy one. I'll let you know what I think about it after I pump a couple hundred rounds through it.

no suppressor.....yet
i saved up enough cash a while back, with the purpose of buying a suppressor- an SWR HEMS2. i got frustrated with the whole process of making a trust (very hard to get signatures on a Form 4 in Dallas county) and built an AR15 with the money. LOL. i absolutly love the AR, so i dont regret it at all. i still cant wait to get a suppressor for the 45 though. ive shot a couple HEMS2s on it, its amazing. if you keep the suppressor wet, its no louder than a CO2 bb gun.

i went to rugers site and saw a video about the SR9, looks like it ought to be a pretty good shooter

Forgot... compact version also ;)
I'm looking into either the USP, Springfield XD, or Walther P99 as top choices. I need to get one soon..

if youve never shot a USP, you ought to get to a range or somthing and rent one. the trigger takes some getting used to.

i personly carry a kimber ultra carry. i LOVE it. not as much capacity but nothing beats a 1911. in my book

i love my taurus mill pro pt140 in .40 small enough to conceal but a blast to shoot

My brother and I had to go to a friends house near Mockingbird today to pick up a bookcase, so I convinced him to stop by DFW Gun Range. We both rented guns and did a little shooting.
We decided to see how we would score on the CHL test... he shot a 250 (Kimber Custom 1911) and I shot a 249 (HK USP and Springfield XD, both in .40 S&W.. I let a USP shot get away from me :(). We signed up for next Sunday's class ;). Not too bad for having fired 0 rounds in close to 2 years...
Now I just have to figure out what I want to buy for my regular carry weapon.

1911's are awesome guns but I'm not the type to carry one... just not really my style.

you can see the steel target in the backgroud of this pic, the white speck on the hill on the top right corner. thats 953 yds.
id already have a miata if id stop spending all my money on guns. :(

Well, I just put my first 100 Rounds through the gun without any issues.
At 15 Yards I without adjusting the sights I could own any part of the target I wanted.
At 30 Yards there was a bit of a drop in the round; and just a little off to the side maybe an inch.
As far as shooting I could pump rounds through as fast as I wanted and still hit my spots. Not a whole lot of recoil that made it pretty easy to keep the grouping close.
All in all I'm satisfied with the gun.
