Anybody run into a Yahoo mail virus yet? I just opened something from my cousin that I think I probably shouldn't have, and now my Inbox says I've got 206 unread messages when I have none. Plus my Inbox actually only has 204 visible messages in it. I can't find much of anything that's of use from Google, but I thought I'd put this out there.
BTW, this email contained a link to a Yahoo video.
Nope... there are plenty of good places on the web that host bad content such as infected movies & flash games as well as infected banner ads that will screw up your system badly.Quote:

Thanks for the help guys... I'll let you know what happens. It looks as though this may be localized to my Yahoo email, but you never know... argh!

my yahoo does that sometimes too ... or it will show new messages when there are none, it usually fixes itself after a logout and back in ... i dont think it is a virus as it does it on all 3 of my pcs including my work one which is locked down pretty tight
It's doing it on both of my PCs, so I think it is Yahoo-related. It's also isolated to just one of my Yahoo accounts. It hasn't fixed itself yet - still shows I have 200+ unread msgs in my Inbox, but it's empty. From what I've been able to dig up, it may be a worm...
