Anybody have a spare set of those "V" shaped (I think) wire springs that attach to the front brake pads? The previous owner of my '96 didn't see fit to use them, and my after-market pads don't come with replacements. I know that if I ordered a set of Mazda pads the springs are included, but I don't use the Mazda pads.
I don't have any, but let me know if you find a source for some.
I want to try to make some out of a heavier gauge wire to push the pads out a little more and reduce brake drag. I need some stock ones to check out. The pad backingn plate will have to be drilled slighty.

Team Cheap Bastard solution - I found some heavy gauge wire at Lowe's and used it to make a couple of replacement springs (those little bastards will fly if you're not careful when you're removing pads! :wink: ). They've worked just fine for over a year now.
Sorry, I can't remember what gauge I used - the wire was slightly thicker than a standard paper clip, is about all I can tell you. :scratch:

I, too, bent some appropriate size music wire for two of those springs on my celica. It works fine- no problems. Go Team CB :)
