I want a voice recorder for taping lectures at school. Anyone have one they don't use? I'd prefer digital but would consider a micro cassette if it were cheap.

I have a Windows Toshiba PDA that I don't use, I believe it has a built in mic and voice recorder function and it has a SD card slot so you could record to that. Let me know if you're interested.
$35 gets you a cheap digi recorder at Sears.
Frys has a bunch as well.
I always look for an excuse to go in there. ;)
I bought a Sony one years ago. Worked amazingly well at recording speakers in LARGE rooms. I used it to record Juliani and Colin Powell among others at our corporate sales meeting. Audiences were in excess of 5,000 people.

If you think that's cool when I was in LA over Christmas I saw a little old granny (probably 80-85 yrs old) in a C6 convertible with the top down. She could barely see over the dash and had 2 huge american flags hanging off the back. She gave me a thumbs up as we drove by in the S2000, very cool!
$50 got me a 4gb MP3 player w/ voice recording (and plays mp3s and videos, shows pictures, plays/records radio). It even has an MicroSd expansion slot to add more memory.
2GB Sansa refurb with voice recorder, FM radio/recorder. 25 shipped

This is the one that is a reoccurring item on Woot for $50.
Thanks for the suggestions but I think I need a dedicated voice recorder. I just got through hearing lectures in my classes about prohibited electronic devices which include cell phones, mp3 players, laptops, etc unless approved by the teacher and only under certain circumstance with certain restrictions.
A device that has other uses, while convenient might be more trouble to try and get "approved".
The magic of the the crazy wireless electronic world we live in. Just being suspected of cheating gets you kicked out of class until the dean makes a ruling and being allowed back in may not even be an option. If you're found guilty, you are suspended for a year.
I would suggest finding one of these at Office Depot or Staples.http://www.sonystyle.com/wcsstore/So...128/M100MC.jpg
