AOL has to GO

My home computer has AOL. It came with it. My bride used to use it, but not in a long time.

The problem is they keep running scans, finding stuff that isn't a problem and telling me they can fix it, and generally annoying us. I have been told that removing the software will corrupt other necessary files. Is this true?

I doubt it would hurt anything to remove it.

If you're skeered, ( :cat: ) just do a 'Start, Run, MSCONFIG' and clickie on the 'Startup' tab. Un-check any references to AOL.

Go buy a freakin' ratchet! :D

Or you can go into the programs directory and rename the AOL directory to some thing like AOL OLD. See if all is good before you remove the program.

AOL just says that so you don't delete their stuff!
