I really enjoy Clarkson, but sometimes... geez... just get to reviewing the car. Read the full version of his review of the BMW 135i -- he doesn't even mention the 1 Series until his 16th paragraph!
A two-post thread from our very own resident novelists and the second post complains of someone else's tendency to the verbose?
What I like about his reviews is the setup. It builds interest, it builds suspense, it builds anxiety if nothing else!
I could tell you, “My Dad almost did a back flip”. You have the bottom line. Or, I could tell you that because he was startled by a roadrunner while looking for Havelina, he did a back flip. If I tell you the details leading up to the discovery of the roadrunner, it is a hilarious story; it is even funnier if I describe his personality and age.
