I'm surprised more people don't notice them when they're coming into an intersection. Those giant-ass camera boxes look out place and they're hard to miss - IMHO. But I guess you'd have to know what's going on to realize that's what it is... hmmmm.
Garland already had to let the person in charge of the red light camera operations go, due to lack of revenue. They are also having to take about half of them out because of the expenses from the company that owns them.
They originally talked about the safety aspect, but the latest articles make it apparent that the soul purpose was for increased revenue.

No shit! Especially the ones at Park or whatever that road is that goes under the DNT/PGBT interchange! Several times when I'm getting on the DNT going north from GB, that damn red light camera flash blinds the hell out of me as I'm going into the ramp at night!::Rant::Quote:
