The spousal unit is looking at a Vee Dub Diesel but it's down in Arlington. Does anyone have any pointers on a good mechanic to take it to for a quick inspection?

I have a vw tech friend at Hiley VW in arlington. His name is Jesse.
I took my car to him today to get the transmission repaired. I lost 5th gear in November and fourth gear this morning.
Tim's German Automotive in Fort Worth. Used them several times. Honest and helpful. At least they were when I used them.
