Lucas Electronics in my Miata?
The issue I've had was my car stereo started losing power inter-minutely along with the memory settings as well. Initially I thought my Sony HU was the problem so I replaced it. Well my new Alpine unit is doing the same thing now. ::Rant::
This happens with the car running or not but happens more on rough pavement which suggest a loose connection somewhere.
I now notice it affects the interior lights at the same time. Since these were on the same fuse, I checked it and the fuse was good. I also loosened the fuse box under the dash and wiggled the wires to see if it would do anything. It didn't.
I noticed the factory wiring manual shows the same blue/red wire going to the interior lights and radio, then to some junction box. Maybe it's the key buzzer which I unplugged over a year ago. From there it goes to the fuse box. I'm pretty sure the radio and interior lights don't share a common ground so that suggests it's the power (blue/red?) wire.
To recap, here's what I know.
Not a blown (Room) fuse.
Not a loose connection at the fuse box.
Not the radio wiring harness. (I installed a new one with the new radio.)
Not the radio (It's been replaced.)
Radio and Interior (footwell) lights lose power at the same time.
Problem is inter-minute
Problem only affects radio and interior lights.
Any suggestions on how to resolve my issue?
