The wifes car is due for some new shoes. After checking out Tire Rack for ratings and reviews, the Kumho's seem to be a great buy on a great tire.
Have any of y'all ever owned, or now own, a set of the Ecsta's? If so, what is your opinion of them? Thanks in advance :!:
I now have ecsta MX, they are ok, more noisey then the half worn azenis on my other wheels. I am guessing you didnt want to know this since they are different tires all together, but I thought I might post it anyway. Watch out for the tread seperation... that did happen on a different tire all together, but I thought you might want to know.

Sammm, have you checked out the consumer ratings on these tires on Tire Rack? Also, what size are you looking for? THat might help us offer some alternatives.
I'm on my fourth(i think) set of kuhmo's on my M2.
I like 'em, and besides, you can't beat 'em for 38$ a tire

The Tire Rack ratings are very good! (8.1 and higher IIRC). I need 205/55/16's. I put noise/ride first, handling second and tread-life 3rd as order of importance.Quote:

Look at the stats for the Sumitomo HTR-200 tire. They are well received and cheap too. I'm on my second set.
Here's a note about the 2 tires from Gary @ Tire Rack -
The HP4 is a great bang for the buck entry level tire, but will not have the same strong wet traction characteristics and consistantly quiet ride of the Avid V4s over the life of the tire. I'd expect the Yokos to be an improvement in cornering ability as well, but we've not tested them side-by-side. Another worth considering in that size and catagory is the Bridgestone G009, which has done very well in wet, snow, and wear thus far.
