Looks like it has been a few years since there was a thread on this topic, so I thought I would bring it up to see what has changed.... Who do people recommend for personal web site hosting these days?

HostMonster ... really great deals and wonderful tech support....
I still use godaddy for mikewalsted.com. No problems, but I don't do much.
Another fan of HostMonster! ::Banana::

Doesn't your ISP give you a free website for personal use?
Nope. There are 2 wireless internet providers out here...
Option 1- 1536kbps bi-directional with 10mb of web space on an "ummm... I dunno, you'd have to ask my husband" wireless network ran out of a guy's garage for $45/month and a 2 year contract.
Option 2- 2 Mbps down/1 Mbps up on a Motorola Canopy with hardware already installed on the house from the prior owner but no web space for $50 and a one year contract.
I went for option 2.
I run a few servers (and have for years) for my own sites. A lot of my friends host with me for cheap. I'm not the cheapest but I have the advantage of the fact people can get a hold of me if there's a question or problem :)
