Should I sell or not?

I've been seriously considering getting a new vehicle lately.

I would like to sell the Teg and buy something, but honestly in the aesthetic condition it's in I really couldn't get anything out of it (plus it's been reliable except for the coil going out last month).

So my thoughts have turned to the Miata.

It's been perfectly reliable except for the cat going out on me right after I bought it. But... it's not that I'm getting tired of it, on the contrary, I love driving it, but it just feels like it's time to move on.

I'm thinking about getting a 2000+ Mazda MPV as a replacement; something to haul my RC planes and other assorted hobby stuff. You can find them for $3700+ all day on Craigslist.

So.. what do you guys think I can get for the Miata?

The paint isn't perfect, but that's about the only thing really icky about the exterior (it's cracking on the nose). It has a 2-year-old top that is still tight, new battery, new plugs/wires...

As for mods, Kosei K1 racing wheels, Azenis with a lot of life left, custom (by TCB) intake, AGX 8-ways (less than 2 years old) and Tein S-Tech springs with FCM bumpstops, Hard Dog Hard Bar, interior converted to black, Voodoo shift knob, reverse indiglo gauges, strut tower brace, and a few other things.

It needs a new gauge hood; this one sucks.

I know some of you have seen my car, so you've seen the condition.

Anybody want to venture a guess at what I should ask for it if I do decide to sell?

Afterward I always have the Teg to sell if I get the bug again... I can buy another project.

IIRC you pulled the A/C out? If so, that makes it a very hard sell in Texas.

It's not pulled, it just needs to be recharged AFAIK (if not, I have a spare compressor courtesy of Channelmaniac).

Oops, forgot about that. It's a 92 with 165k. Or 168. I forgot and it's cold outside ;)

Oh, and it also has an MP3 CD player and Blaupunkt speakers, plus tweeters in the top of the door trim panels.

Slightly off-topic.

Good luck, I came very close to having to sell my Miata recently and be a one car family for financial reasons (ok, 1 car/1 bike family, whatever). I am sure glad I didn't have to.

Well, like I mentioned in another thread, just after I posted this the Papa Johns delivery guy asked out of the blue if the car was for sale... I quoted him a price of $3200, and he jumped ALL over it. He said he would call me back this week to see if I've made a firm decision on selling it.

I need a van, and it seems like it's time for a break from Miatas... I'll get another one in the future, don't worry :D

Seriously though, heck no I'm not leaving here... once I get the Integra repaired I'll more than likely be buying another Miata project.
