We have a FM 2.5" downpipe back exhaust on oiur 99 Miata. Does anyone make a 2.75" or 3" downpipe back exhaust? Anybody ever dyno the difference?

I don't know about any off-the-shelf exhausts, but you could try Kinnney's Muffler in Hurst (corner of Brown Trail and Pipeline) for custom exhaust work. Theyhave reasonable prices and access to a mandrel bender, iirc.
Or better yet, give FM a call and ask them if its worth it. Chances are they've tried it.
I seem to remember Kieth from FM posting on the pointy board that they have dyno tested larger exhausts and found that there was only a very slight improvement that was not worth the added noise it produced.
i think enthuza makes a 3"
www.enthuzacar.com is their website i think.
I believe that is true with the turbochargers that FM uses. However, we are planning to upgrade out T25 ball bearing to a home grown T28 ;-) I've done this on 2.0 Nissans with excellent results. Basically adds about 30 whp.Quote:
