Question for everyone -
Is driving a right or a privilege? Discuss... and give reasons why you believe either.
We're having quite the discussion here at the workplace and care to see what others think.

i believe if it was your right to drive, you wouldn't have to take a test to get your license.
I believe it's a privilege. if you screw up enough, the man takes your license away ane you aren't allowed to drive anymore.
i could go on more, but i'm not in the typing mood.
You have the right to drive as long as you are on your own property. As soon as you leave your property, it is a privilege.

Texas Driving Law
Information on Texas driving law and Texas traffic laws...
Operating a motor vehicle is a privilege. If this privilege is abused by violating Texas traffic laws it may result in driver's license suspension or revocation.
Law? We don't need no steenkin' law! 8)Quote:

The lack of Mass Transit in many areas of the Metromess is a big concern.

In my opinion, driving is a privilege. One that is far too easy to get in this country.
Yep I fully agree!Quote:

A priviledge, and as someone mentioned previously, far to easy to get a license. I still think every teenager should go through a vehicle handling course, such as an autox school or something similar...
and a refresher course and retest every so often. That's why I'm teaching Remedial Drivers' Education today 8)Quote:
