Power Window Repaired with Manual Winder

Hey All,

Just wanted to pass along a bit of info. Not sure if anyone else has done this or not.

The power window on the driver's side stopped working and finally 1 of the 2 cables broke. I bought a manual winder and took it apart. The rail and cables are the same for a manual as for a power winder. I disassembled my power winder and cleaned out the crud and old cables. I wound the manual cables around the spool and reassembled the power winder.

Before mounting into the door, I tested the power winder and it worked great. I installed the newly repaired winder into the door, mounted the glass and made a few alignment adjustments and an adjustment on the cable at the winder and this window works I think better than new.

Sorry, I didn't get any images but when the passenger side fails, I am ready with a manual winder and will collect a few images.
