JANUARY 6--In a bizarre incident that will surely lead to litigation (or an out-of-court settlement), a skier at Colorado's ritzy Vail resort was left dangling upside down and pantsless from a chairlift last Thursday morning.

That's crazy. I've been skiing all my life and can't imagine how he ended up where he was from the story described, but sh** happens. (or I'm really surprised it didn't;-)
Actually, I can sort of relate to this. I was on some long lift, Winter Park I think, and as we got to the point where you stand up and ski away, my poles which had been sitting across my lap got hung up in the chair somehow. By the time I finally got them loose, the chair had gone around the turn and was on its way back down the mountain. Next thing I knew I was falling about fifteen feet down to what was fortunately a nice big snowbank. Of course they stopped the lift and rang the alarm, so that everybody on the mountain could see the guy who forgot to step off the lift when he was supposed to.
How pathetic are you that you can't reach your free leg to drop the ski and then use that boot to free your hung leg. Looks like an exhibitionist to me.
I guess that would be bad advertising for all the hot little ski bunnies coming down the slope, eh?
