Advice on shocks

Anyone out here have any advice for a newbie Miata owner, about shocks? I am looking to replace the shocks on my 95 with 155k miles on them. As you may know, they are WAAAAAYYYYY shot, I can run over a pebble, and damn near break every bone in my back :-)

I am looking for a nice soft ride, nothing agressive or "race driven". This is a weekend driver, mainly for my wife and I. Should I just noob up and buy the autozone (sensa-trac) or are there better shocks out there? I don't believe I want the adjustable shocks, but that is why I am posting, I would like to get some "seasoned" advice from you pros out there :D

Actually adjustable shocks are a good idea for you so you can adjust the setting softer for a nicer ride. I would avoid your off the shelf crap as no one here would know what type of ride to expect. I think a good option for you would by a set of KYB AGX. They offer a non adjustable GR2 but they are firmer than stock. That being said, anything will be a huge improvement over what you have now.

You may want to consider the Koni SRT's currently on sale at Tire Rack for $68.00 ea! One of these days I plan to put a set on the wife's Miata.

+1 ... that's a good deal if you're looking for non-adjustable shocks. Hard to beat the Koni's in bang for the buck.

JK. You will get great advice here (but you have been warned...).

You might wanna look into doing the FCM mounts as well. They will give you alot more travel before you hit the bumpstops.
