ECSTA 711

Anyone has experience with ECSAT 711? I am looking a set for my family car. I come across the ECSTA 711 and it looks like a TCB deal :lol: .

I want the next set of tires to have these charateristics:
1. TCB deal
2. Stiff sidewall (Millenia S has very soft springs)
3. Low noise (not much wheelwell sound insulation ether. I understand all summer tires are not supposed to be quiet.)
4. At least 30K miles life. I don't care nor want to pay for those ultra high milage tires, i.e. 65K miles. I like to change them every 2 to 3 years to keep them fresh.

From the feedbacks on TireRack, it looks like a great summmer tire but with wet traction/hydroplating issues :? .

fwMiata, have you use this tire before? Acutally some of the feedback in Tirerack gave pretty good comment on wet traction. Also, a lot of them have mixed use of autocross and street. Which led to wonder how applicable those comments on Tirerack are. :?

i would pm thorage327 he has used a ton of differnt tires and would probobly know how good/bad this one is.

I have a set and am about to order another. I think they are great street tires for $40! They have been very predictable in wet or dry. They do lose grip earlier than most, but are very easy to control, as the go very slowly.......

I always liked the 712s better than the 711s. The silica based compounds in the 712s seemed to be grippier. The mac daddy Kumho is the MX - a fantastic tire.

My wife drives a 2001 Millenia. Last year we had to replace tires. The factory Michelins went 50K, only getting a little noisy at the end, so we ended up getting Michelins again. I also considered Bridgestone Potenzas (forget the exact model) and for a cheaper option Pirellis. P600 I think, maybe P6000. I have used Pirellis on several cars and been happy. They are also cheap at Sams.

I would not put the 711s on a family car. Frankly, I would not put those on any car but especially a family car.
