Yeah, I know it's not Miata related but I thought someone may be interested. I have come to the conclusion that the Jeep I built is too much for the type of wheeling I like to do. So here it is so I can start over and build one to do what I like to do. This is a turn key Jeep. Nothing needs to be done to it to make it work.

Jeep Specs:
'72 CJ-5, clear title, street legal in Texas, Current tags and inspection.
This Jeep was built as a street legal Rock Crawler and has approximately 3300 miles since its was put back together 5 years ago.
Low gear is 90.78 to 1 but is comfortable driving at highway speeds.
Weighs approximately 3600lbs.
Engine:
'83 258 I-6 rebuilt 3300 miles ago.
HEI Distributer w/ DUI Live wires
Oil Pan has integrated skid plate.
Fuel System:
Megasquirt Fuel Injection using GM Throttle Body. (MSII on V3.0 Board)
RCI fuel tank in the bed w/ Holly Dual fuel pickup assembly installed.
Holly in line fuel pump mounted to the frame rail above the skid plate.
LM Wide Band O2 sensor for closed loop fuel control
Dash:
Custom Dash using Autometer guages.
Speed, Tach, Water Temp, Oil Preassure, Voltage and fuel level all using electronic senders.
Newer style Wrangler headlight/running light switch installed.
YJ Tilt steering column installed. Tilt, wiper, turn signal, highbeam and hazzards are functional.
Transmission:
T-18 (6.32 to 1 low gear from a J-20 truck, short shaft conversion installed)
Hydraulic Clutch conversion (Part's Mike Parts)
Custom Skid plate w/ seperate transmission cross member (Baertrax).
Rebuilt 3300 miles ago
Transfer Case:
DANA 20 w/Terra Low Gears 3.15 to 1 low range (Baertrax).
Twin-stick conversion w/detent pills removed to allow front wheel drive operation.
Terra Low has about 2000 miles on it.
Suspension:
Converted to YJ width springs (2.5" wide) using 4.5" lift 2.5" wide Rubicon Express springs.
Front Axle:
Early 80's wide track Dana 30.
Disk Brakes
4.56 Gears
Powertrax Lock-Right locker
Yukon Chromoly innner and outer shafts w/ Dana 44 sized u-joints.
Warn Internally splined hub conversion.
Custom Heavy Duty tie-rod and drag links with Heim Joints.
Power steering
Custom made heavy duty front driveshaft with new u-joints.
Baertrax Butt-Face diff cover/skid plate.
Gear set-up done by Baertrax.
5x5.5 wheel pattern.
Rear Axle:
Currie Custom Wide Track (less then 1 year old)
Dana 44 center section w/ large bearing Ford 9 inch outers.
Custom 1541 flanged axles
4.56 gears
Full Detroit locker
Drum brakes w/ emergency brake
Pinion tilted up to reduce drive shaft angle.
CV driveshaft
Double walled high-fill diff cover.
5x5.5 wheel pattern.
gears and locker were transfered from the NT Dana 44 when I replaced it, gear set up done by Baertrax.
Wheels/Tires:
Cheap chrome Discount Tire 15x8 5x5.5 wheels.
GoodYear Wrangler MTRs 35x12.5r15 (including spare)
rears have 40% tread.
fronts have 90% tread.
spare has 60% tread.
Safety:
Full cage extending from the grill hoop to the rear.
All cage and skidplate work done by Baertrax.
Cage is tied into the frame in 5 different locations on each side (10 total).
Racing style seats with 4 point harness mounted to the cage.
Rocker Guards
Custom skid plate w/seperate cross member to allow the skid plate to be removed for maintenance.
Swing out rear tire carrier for access to the bed space.
Recovery:
Warn 8000i Winch w/ synthetic rope and positive locking hook.
Rear tow point for D-Ring attachment.
C02 bottle w/mount.
