Assuming my car is not at the dealership for my mechatronic replacement I should be there.
What's a mechatronic?
A german word meaning mucho dinero.
Off of wikipedia "The actual shift timings are determined by the DSG's Electronic Control Unit, or ECU, which commands a hydro-mechanical unit, and the two units combined are called a "mechatronics" unit. Because the DSGs ECU uses "fuzzy logic", the operation of the DSG is said to be "adaptive"; that is, the DSG will "learn" how the user drives the car, and will progressively tailor the shift points accordingly."
Essentially my car was a little bit jerky getting off the line at slow speeds. Took it into the dealership and as part of VW's new DSG customer service program they are installing me a new unit under warranty.
They gave me a loaner Jetta for free as well.
I think I might try and make this one :) NASA is too $$ for right now!
I have kid duty on Saturday, otherwise I'd be at ECR for NASA. I might still do NASA on Sunday.
Well I went ahead and registered :-)
So there are only 2 spots left in the morning session. Also we're thinking about running one of the PCA courses. I posted a course map on the website.
Probably can't make it to this event because of prior engagements, but I'll definitely be making it to the next one.
I'm in for this one.
What time do most people show-up for these texas Time Trials events?
The email I got today, is that for the morning session, get there at or before 8 to help setup. If you're in the afternoon session, 12:30 for lunch.
Thanks. LOL...I just checked my email, and got the same one about an hour ago.
Man, that was damn fun! Kinda wet, but ended up being some great opportunity for testing the car at its limits.
Glad it turned out good. I was unable to attend. I had already setup a motorcycle trip to Clayton, Ok. Was a good time. Rained on us the entire way back though.
I know why my last two sessions were so interesting :) I've *really* got to get those new tires in soon (they're on the truck apparently).
Lots of fun in the damp and wet. Amazing the amount of traction you have when you're running a decent line, vs. trying to force the car against the laws of physics!
well my first video is up.
This one is of driving in the wet and all the fun sliding around.
Ill have another shortly for when the track dried up a bit, and I could put down a decently good time.
Looks like PCA course #3. It's a fun one.
