Porsche cancels Boxster/Cayman
-
I think they are just moving production to their own facilities.

Just trying to upset our local Porsche kids. ;)

I find this hard to believe. I read somewhere a few days ago that they have plan for a "baby Boxster" for the 2012 model year.
-
Baby Boxster? Is it going to be the size of an NA?
-
I had no idea that VW was swallowing up Porsche...
-
Porsche was trying to do the opposite (buy VW) but got overextended when the bottom fell out of things and VW bought them instead.
-
Expect the production to be moved to a family facility rather than outsourcing it to Magna. It is my understanding that the smaller Boxster will share a platform with a VW sports car. The VW will come with a turbo deisel. Many believe that the VW ownership will water down the Porsche line but I believe it will get it back to producing world class sport' cars rather than SUV's.

Another SUV hater?

Ever driven one of those Porsche SUV's? If you had to have an SUV, you could do a lot worse than the Cayenne. Just sayin'...

I agree that the SUV is a hell of a auto and would love to have one. It was necessary for Porsche to produce these to keep Porsche financially viable. That is not the case any longer.

True enough. As much as the "Porsche purists" want to revile it, the Cayenne saved the company financially, and allowed them to keep making their sports cars. You'll get no Cayenne-bashing from me... ;)
I wonder which sells more, the Porsche Cayenne or the VW Do Rag?

I'll take the Cayenne. As a matter of fact, I now have the wife interested in owning one the next time she gets an upgrade. The sacrifices I make.::BaHump::
