What Honda forum on the web has the best technical info?

Gentlemen, I have a friend who needs help diagnosing a honda manual trans problem ('98 civic manual). He is not really the mechanic type, and I know squat about hondas. He also does not have a manual (groan).

What forum would most likely provide reasonable technical assistance? I've been searching for more than an hour and all I can find are kids making guesses about various car issues, NOT real world experienced enthusiasts.

He tells me it's hard to shift gears—no grinding, but basically he has to "pop" the trans into gear. I'm not real experienced with transmissions, but I've replaced a clutch, so that makes me more experienced than him. I was hoping that maybe it's just a misaligned pedal fork, but for all I know, honda's don't have adjustable linkage like that.

My friend is coming over today. I hope I find something soon.

Sounds like it may be air in the system. That or it could be a bad master or slave cylinder.

Just using miata experience here, but could it be a leaky clutch slave cylinder?

I wasn't necessarily looking for a diagnosis, but if I get one I won't quibble. If anyone else wants to speculate, I'll provide more details.

My friend says he replaced the master & clutch about 6 months ago and bled the system. This issue is a sudden issue, not one that's been getting worse. He's seen no evidence of exterior leaking and the fluid level in the reservoir is up to standard.

Is that honda-tech.com forum the best place to potentially find good honda info?

Thanks for all the suggestions people. Turns out my initial guess was a good one. His pedal linkage had come loose and his adjustment went all wacky. My bet is that he didn't torque the linkage down properly when he replaced the master.

On a Miata-related note, I found oil under my car when moving it so we could put his car in the garage (brrr, cold day to work on cars). Looks like my CAS o-ring is leaking :(. I figured it'd happen at some point.
