Back when America had big balls.
Infamous. Good reminder, Rogue.
It's amazing how many people have no idea what happened on this day.
On of the guys in my local radio club was a navy radioman at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7th. I forgot what ship he was on, but I am pretty sure it was not one of the battleships.
He use to be able to send and receive Morse Code at a little over 50 words per minute. That absolutely boggles my mind. I really struggled with 13 wpm to past my general test.
Bill was a 20 year old radioman on the USS Aylwin (DD-355). He was in the half of the crew not on shore leave. He was just finishing a shower and shave when the attack began. He then headed for the weather deck in his skivvies.
The Aylwin was decommissioned in 1945, Bill is still going strong.
I can't imagine spending the war crossing the pacific in a Tin can.

Signed my first reenlistment at 0715 on 03NOV2003 on the USS Arizona Memorial.
I still have the flag flown over it.
You signed your first re-enlistment about two weeks before I got out of boot camp.
I think I saw you leavin work today.
Yup, I waved but I'm not sure if you saw me. The MSM is a little bit of a handful when it is cold and wet outside.
