Short version:
What is the general consensus as to the most reliable, accurate, quick-to-update in-car traffic service for the D/FW area?
Long version:
I drive from south Fort Worth (Burleson ISD) to Addison to work. I'm currently on a 7 on/7 off 6 to 6 schedule, usually working nights. For traffic, I tune to KRLD, wait for an update or two, pick a route, and switch to listening to my USB drive full of CDs converted to .WAV files. This usually (but not always) keeps me out of major problems. There is talk at work of switching me to a M-F 9-5 position, which would have me traveling with the predominant traffic flow about 4 times more often than now. With that in mind, I am considering replacing my current head unit (which I really like) with a double-din, GPS, traffic-capable unit if the schedule change goes through. Before I make any decisions in that area, I'd like others opinions as to whether in-car traffic updates are timely and accurate enough to make it worth purchasing a GPS and traffic capable in-dash unit and annual subscription.
Thanks
