Any other Ford Escape owners out there? If so, what has your experience been with it? I just picked up a used 03 XLT for daughter 01 and I give it :thumrigh:! Ford used a Mazda 626 for the base of what would be the Escape and Mazda Tribute. With a 3.0L V6 and FWD it can get up and go, 20mpg on her first tank. It sits high enough to see where you're going, but you don't need a ladder to get in like my F250.
I have an '03 Tribute that just passed 100K miles. Never even took it back to the dealer! The only problem we had was a noisey fuel pump a couple years ago. I put in a new fuel filter and solved that problem. The wife drives it , but soon it will become my DD when we buy her a new car.
New fuel filter is on my list since this just turned 100K as well. Unfortunately, no history came with this one so I just treat it as though no scheduled maintenance was done.
