clanking from drivetrain
There is a nasty clanking coming from the transmission or driveshaft or differential on my car that I cant quite figure out. EDIT: It happens when I am turning and in gear, and the sounds seems to be coming from the rear end. I can coast around turns with the clutch or out of gear and it wont do it.
It all started the other day as I was turning onto an elevated road from a stop, on a steep hill.
does anybody know what this could be?
the car is a 90 w/ 1.8 swap. I believe the rear end is the 1.6, but am not sure
any help is greatly appreciated

Yea I have the same problem mines from the trans and only in 4th gear  in lower rpm's once gets higher rpm's it goes away, let me know if ya figure it out.

I would check to make sure your axles are in all the way.
Also check all the bolts to the suspension, or otherwise, that you had to loosen to get the axles in after your diff swap.
Remember suspension parts should be torqued with two wrenches not just as tight as you can with one wrench.

Simply a guess, but I'm thinking differential, maybe a limited-slip clutch (assuming you have a limited-slip diff.). I'd check the fluid level back there.

I'd take a look at the U-joints. too.

Don't skip the easy stuff... Check for broken motor and diff mounts...

My money is on a broken drivers side motor mount.

ok, so I replaced the broken motor mounts but the clanking hasn't stopped. But i realized the clanking only happens when I am in gear and turning, I can coast through turns using the clutch. and the sound seems to be coming more from the rear end

Yea it only happens to me when im in 4th and 5th gear and accel. when under 2k rpm.
