LlI'll be there if my roll bar is in the car in time.
I will be there in TTA or B depending on the number on the number of people. Are you running TT or HPDE, class?
HPDE3 is what I'm signed up in, but I'd be TT-S
HPDE3/4. I will try to remember to sign up tonight.

i don't want this to turn into another rollbar discussion, but i have never seen anybody pay $10 to watch. never ever. since 2006.
How do you know when to switch from HPDE to TT? I'd like to run a faster pace than I ran last week in HPDE (the last session was fast though), but I don't have a cage and somewhat expect to get tapped and punted in the TT groups.
Thoughts?
When you want to compete rather than drive. They don't push you to TT, you have to ask to be checked off to get your TT license so that you can actually compete in the timed events.
What level of banging into each other and flipping on the roof should I expect? Is it dumb to take this car into TT without a cage or even expect to drive it home? How often do you TT guys end up at the body shop? I know we're not racing for position, but I'm not sure if I should expect to get pushed off track, bumped around, or pitted/punted for track position?
I've not done a TT, but since you're trying to get ONE good lap for the day/weekend I can't see why you'd ever need to trade paint. That's not fast .
paging Ken-O
I only have one TT event with NASA. Everyone was very well behaved. Some passes were open (no point). Some people gave me a point. The first session was grid as you want. After they had lap times we were grid by times. This worked well. Only complaint is some fast cars are slower in corners. Just give yourself a gap. You are not racing for position only for time. Toss out a lap and then make a run at it.
NO ONE wants contact. The many of the cars in TT are driven to the event. I am not racing with a sponsor. I will give up the lap if it looks like contact. If you see someone coming up behind you hold the race line and let them go around or point them by.
As in all events safety is number one. To move to TT you should be comfortable with cars passing you, passing cars, possibly running in close proximity to another car, and know what to do should something go wrong.
I think if someone was playing blocking games or trying to run you off line they would be booted. But remember the car being passed has the right to hold the race line.
Thanks Ken, I'm going to request a check-ride so I can run TT next time.
You can get a check ride and move to TT the same day...
