I might try this autocross thing. Sounds like fun. How does it work?
They set up a course with cones and then the person that rides their razor scooter around the cones the fastest wins.
In.
so the question is if I need to get grippy tires for the scooter or are overall grip levels not important, and instead do I need low rolling resistance tires for the most straight line punch.
Here is a great FAQ for the school.
Online registration is available via link at http://www.autocross.com/tr/modules/news/.
Tim Bergin does an awesome job managing this school for Texas Region Solo!
We've made a real push this year to keep the classroom time down to 2 hours so everyone can get on the courses sooner. Autocross is an applied science. The more seat time, the better!! We typically have 3 courses setup so there's not much wait time in between your runs too.
Students & instructors are grouped by types of cars they run so information better applies to your type of car. We're also going to try to rotate thru the instructors a bit so students can get another perspective of an additional instructor.
The ratio of students will should be 2-3 students per instructor.
Loaner helmets will be available if needed.
Not a gaurentee, but Mark Wortham in the Red C5 Corvette Trophied at Nationals last year & he took the school last year.....I'm just saying!! :D
(I love throwing that out there, Mark!! ;))
I had a good instructor!
BTW, Registration for the school closes Wednesday!
talk about butt frickin' ugly for the school.
Saturday...Rain and thunderstorms in the morning...then a slight chance of rain and snow in the afternoon. Windy. No snow accumulation. Highs around 40. Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph increasing to 20 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Wind gusts up to 40 mph are possible. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.
Now people can really learn to drive in bad conditions! :D
I would be there if I didn't have to work, regardless of weather.
Just classroom today. The driving portion is postponed, so I am home and dry.
Looks like the weekend will be a wash out. Now I will be stuck doing taxes and going to Sam's.
