1.8 valve noise

i hear about the 2twisty flush and everything on miata.net, but from what iv been readings its mainly about the small ticks at idle. at around 3500 rpms i have a lot of valve noise comming from my head, is that something i should be worried about? will it hurt anything if i dont treat it?

i have eleminated detonation, bearing noise and a ratter, its comming from the intake side of my head

Change the oil to a synthetic and use a Mazda or Wix filter. That usually does it. You could have something amiss but try the oil change first.
