TCB = Team Cheap Bastard
So I got my E-Bay slightly used Bilstiens in and thanks to Creek I also have a cool set of Fat Cat Bump-stops! When the weather is decent my '94 serves as my daily driver so I'm thinking boots would be a good plan.
So who makes a decent boot for use with an FCM bump-stop? Would the Rancho's work? Any other Suggestions?
I think the Rancho's are typically the TCB alternative.
I had a set of those. They kept stacking down on to the shock body. Waste of effort.

I'm thinking about sewing a set of my own out of ripstop nylon. Simple tube with drawstrings top and bottom ought to do it.
The KYB ones will not fit Billies.
POS, I have 4 Rancho's boots from the old setup. They are dirty but still functional. I used zip tie to keep them on the shock bodies. I can bring them to you if you want them. :D
The issue with the Billies is that they have a larger body diameter (2 inch) than the others. The inside boot diameter is less than that and they have to stretch to fit over the body. At full compression the boot is forced down onto the shock, and stays there, causing the boot to pull loose from the top. At least that's been my experience with the fat cat bumps because they are not held at the top like OEM.
Hey Creek how did you have these bump stops on you car?
Do the two 36mm go on the front with the spacer and a steel washer then the 46mm go on the rear with a washer??
I'm pretty sure that is the correct configuration but figured I better ask before I bolt stuff back under the car! ;-)

The washer goes between the shaft ring and the tophat of course. The 36s go on the front with the spacer above the bumper. I just used one spacer per side but I think mine were 6mm each. The 46s go in the rear of course. I have all kinds of spacers in several thicknesses up to 1/2" that I have made with all my experimenting. I have lots of ruined poly cutting boards that I use a hole saw to cut out whatever I need.
