That whole setup is for the blow by catch can. They probably realized they over did it a little bit for a 6psi turbo.
that picture is one of the early promo shots...
It was probably a late edition to teh design. If you look there's also different routing on the lines from the boost solenoid, as well as a different method of mounting the solenoid.
I'm sure if I looked closer you coudl find other differences as well...
