shift knob info needed
anyone know the size/thread of the shifter where the knob screws on?
will likely have to destroy existing one to get it off
and looking for a replacement -- want something similar shaped to this
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CAL-188402/?rtype=10
and not as big as a tee handle
but, the Summit one is shiny aluminum so it will get hot in the sun
anyone know of a leather covered or delrin one that might be in the shape I'm looking for?

Miata knobs should be threaded as M10 x 1.25 if I recall correctly.
No idea where to find a mushroom-style knob like the one you linked. Sorry.

Look into the OEM Mitsubishi knobs from the Lancer or Evo, I think from the 2009 or 2010 model, not sure. You can get them at sub Voodoo prices on Ebay.

It's ball shaped, but it's the closest to what you're looking for that I've seen.
Check my sig, I have the white stitch version, from the Ralliart Lancer. Only problem with mine is the Ralliart is manumatic so the threads weren't deep enough, I had to drill and tap them. I believe Juxt3r is correct on the thread pitch, that's what I used to tap them.
Knob is plastic under the leather so it's lighter than stock, but I don't mind the feel.

I'm using a 8ball that I drilled out years ago , I have a piece of fuel hose in the hole and screwed it onto the threads. The thread is the same as my wrangler I recently sold so I swapped the shift knobs. I'd get a pic of it but my Na is at Rouge's getting some work done.

I use these people above. I've got a black pearlescant knob I got from them with the 5 speed pattern cut in the top and really like it. Dosen't soak up a lot of heat either stays pretty cool.
Just give the lady a call and she can get pretty much anything made for ya.

it is a bit taller than stock, which was a BIG plus for me. It is a more comfortable position.
Sorry, the club roadster ebay link no longer works. Here is a current link to the knob
