I don't know about a lawyer, but it seems everyone is experts on the law.

Seriously though, for a few hundo, a lawyer will cost more, unless you win and the fee is tacked on. Still gotta collect though....Perhaps small claims court? Same issue though, still gotta collect...

IANAL, but Holiday Inn, etc... File in small claims court, get a judgment when he doesn't show up. If it's a big enough judgment, then hire a lawyer to collect it.
