Mark Cuban is in the mix....is that good or bad? I'd like to see Nolan remain president, but doubt that will happen if Cuban is the new owner.

I wanna see Nolan stay...that's all I really care about lol
Who's the best team in the AL or perhaps the entire MLB right now?
The Rangers, Yankees, or Rays? Ehhhh?
looks like Nolan got the team :D
I'm glad Nolan got it but what exactly happened in the end? Cuban had a higher bid of $390 million but it was reduced by court deductions so that Ryan's $385 bid won?
I read something about Cuban's bids being "discounted" due the probability that his winning bid would take weeks, if not months, longer to close. MLB might not have approved Cuban as an owner, and GnR would have probably appealed a ruling in favor of Cuban.
I'm still not believing it until the confirmation hearing this morning - should be any minute now. And if all goes well, GnR close a week from today.
Then we can talk about re-signing Cliff Lee... ;)
More details...
* Lenders retain the right to sue Hicks.
* Hicks walks away with nothing - no honorary title, no free tickets, no parking space, no free hot dogs, nothing.
Sounds like things are about wrapped up in court. Nolan has a press conference at 3. BTW, Wade has his daily presser around the same time, so we'll see which one the Ticket carries...
I was glad to read about the decision this morning. I couldn't take a couple years of Cuban bad-mouthing the umps and getting fines when we lost...
Seriously, I'm actually glad because I like Mr. Ryan and want to see a "baseball guy" get it. My wife still refers to the Robin Ventura incident from time to time.
Regards.

Glad Ryan ended with the team!
You know what? Yesterday was the anniversary of that ass-whippin...
On August 4, just before the end [of his last year as a player], Ryan had yet another high profile moment – this time an on-the-mound fight. After Ryan hit Robin Ventura of the Chicago White Sox, Ventura charged the mound in order to fight Ryan, who was 20 years his senior. Ryan secured the 26-year-old Ventura in a headlock with his left arm, while pummelling Ventura's head with his right fist six times before catcher Iván RodrĂ*guez was able to pull Ventura away from Ryan. Ryan stated afterwards it was the same maneuver he used on steers he had to brand on his Texas ranch.
