93 Nissan Hardbody problems

I have a 93 Nissan pickup with nearly 170k miles.

It has an automatic :evil: thats starting to slip a bit. :cry: It's slow to go after switching into drive.

The other problem is the car will die if left in drive at a stop light. I'll pop it into nuetral at lights just to keep it running.

I took it to an automatic tranny shop and the mechanic drove it. He said the tranny wasn't causing the motor to quit but rather it was something with the motor itself.

Any idea on what it could be? I'm going to replace the plugs, wires, rotor, cap, air filter. They probably need it anyway.

Any other suggestions?

Are those carbed or FI? I had an old 87 way back that had to get a new carb.
