Wouldn't it be more accurate if they said "We started with a tarted up Cl-Series Accord"??
It looks like a Miata already blew the TSX doors off in the previous corner.
Oh don't forget - Acura USA the Mercury Division of Honda! ;)

Why do they show it trying to drift around a turn? It's front wheel drive, c'mon Honda!
Agreed that the commercial sucks.
But...my '04 TSX was a damn fine car. All it needed was a bigger rear sway bar and better rubber.
I can't get past the nose on the new Acura's...fugly.
Yeah, it seems Acura/Honda are either depending on a much older demographic here in the US and don't care about fielding genuine sports cars, or they think the buying public is generally unsophisticated enough to believe whatever they are told.
"We started with some near-retirement 50-something white golfing weenies whose wives hated riding in the Boxster..."
Contact the FTC and ask them to define sports car.
We know what one is, but most of us don't write commercials...
Acura seems to be aiming for the "pretentious" demographic, not the "informed" demographic. Their "worlds first four-door coupe" commercial showed me that their marketing department needs to be hit a few dozen times with a "clue" mallet.
Lol true. Honda sells so many Civics, Accords, etc. that there is really no reason that they would have to make a "sports car", their commuter cars sales provide them with well enough revenue. It seems like they try to fool the generic public here and there, such as in this commercial, into buying a "sporty" sedan. Looks like a great car, but I think they're depicting it the wrong way. It's such a shame because Honda has so much potential to make a badass sports car! The new CRZ could've been close if they would have used a straight gasoline vtec motor similar to that of the S2000 if not the exact same motor. I love the S2K and the NSX, I wish Honda would just keep at least 1 or 2 cars in that market...
Looks like a really nice wagon, except for the front. Not in my budget though. And really not a sportscar.
