Tension Cable Rivet Size??

I need to replace a tension cable on my convertible top.

Does anyone happen to know the size of the rivet is that you use to install the tension cable??

not trying to thread jack, but where can you get new tension cables? mine were broken when taking the top off to get it restitched.

Best price I found was Ebay.

But I ended up swiping one off an old frame I had.

ok, thanks. Another quick question. I'm very new to miata's and was wanting to know what the tension cables actually do? Is it something I could do without for awhile?

They stretch the top and help it lay down flat above the windows and down the back edge of them. Your top would bunch up and would probably leak badly (air & water) without them.
