How do you deal with people trying to race you on the street?

While driving my WRX around tonight I had a white miata with blue stripes messing with me on the highway. It just wasn't fair. :burnrubr:

jrj512 is like that.

Just smile and shake your head to let them (him) know you pitty their need to dominate anybody on the street.

If you can pull up next to them at a stop light, invite them to check out the SCCA and come see what they can do in a controlled, legal venue.

Yeah, I was coming home from a nice meal with friends (that thankfully did not include Onething) when two punks in a white WRX pulled up next to me. I get this a lot, so I just ignored them. They were pretty persistent, so I was doing my usual grumbling about how I would eat their lunch on an AX course. Then I finally look over and see who it is. Not sure if I would have beat them on an AX course. ;)

That explains the invisible slalom on the highway.

We had a good laugh. We were waving the whole time and jrj512 wouldn't even glance over for the longest time.

I usually just blow a kiss, that scares them off pretty quick.

We drive Miatas right?

We should just make fun of the ricers with giant rear wings.

When I do drive my miata I keep a pack of hot dogs and end any attempt of a street race by showing how many hot dogs I can fit in my mouth. Sometimes they crash into a tree and sometimes I get a free dinner.

I ignore them and drive slowly. If I have to, I'll change my route to avoid them.

Um.....I ruin their day by getting beaten by a Miata. :P

iv been known to slam on my brakes after a bit of them riding next to me trying to get me to do something.
