I have always used OEM on the Miata. I have seen threads on the :batman: board that recommended WIX or Purolator IIRC.
i use the stock size k&n filter...i've had good results from using it in my car and my otm (360 mopar v8). they work pretty well and you can get them from advanced auto or various online places (most of which will deliver the next day).
I use a M1-110. Long and slender with no problem fitting in a 2003.

I've used WIX filters and Purolators as well. Seem to work well. :?
For ease and price I've been using the Purolators since I stocked up when PepBoys had them on sale for 2 for $5.
i use nippon
I'm another OEM filter guy.
OEM for me... Annual replenishment of plugs and oil filters from Mazdaspeed...
I use a smaller size fram, to save weight.
(Just kidding, I ordered six from an online dealer somewhere. I think I might try Altiain's suggestion when I run out though.
